I remeber; my first dabs
into painting as a young child with pencils my father would bring back from the construction site and the paper with the perfectly
grided lines that he would bring me; too the days of finger painting in preschool; the class projects in elementary;
the crude paint sets designed for kids I would get for gifts; the first real art classes I took in Middle school and all the
different mediums they exsposed me to; being moved to the advance classes there after with Mrs,Cameron who to my luck
transfered to the high school I would attend and allow me a freedom with my arts.
I Remember Mr. Milton Watts and his positive influence as well as lessons taught
in the Commercial end of the Arts that would get me through some of the tough projects I've encountered and I'm sure for more
to follow.
I also remember enlisting in the Army designing and painting
upon murals that I would never get to finish.
I remember drifting from my passion to follow a career
in the health care industry that would only occationaly allow me to use my true talents in little informative booklets for
diagrams on how to. All the while carrying my little sketchbook with me and occationally picking up a piece of canvas
and some paints here and there along the way.
And I still remember the feeling of getting my first handfull
of paintings framed and walking just down the way to a gallery pub in Tampa called ZION; and how my work was accepted
for the first time, and how good it made me feel, and how much that day change my life from there foward.
I also remember; my first Gallery show; and my first 10 rejections;
as well as my first painting sold.
I remember digging in the ditches with other artist at local
group shows that the Vitale Bro's were so kind to invite me to show in.
I can still rember my first mural job on the Beach in the womens
room at a bar named Bongo's and the story published on me for my works there at eclecticity e-zine as well as Charolotte Carvers(the
publishers) kind words," Stig is a serous artist of great talent."; And to the slanderous coments from others that would
follow.
As well I can remember the first phone call to be involved in
Cerebral Arts 4 that Phil Pressler had put on and how it rain so hard that the only people left where just the artists
who would not give up an ounce of hope.
I can remember the good and the bad; but one thing that has
always stayed with me and that is the satisfaction of being able to create something that I can enjoy and share with others
regardless of the times.
